Field Engineer Helsing
I validate and integrate autonomous defence systems across several field sites, from pre-production testing through commissioning. Most components are unproven when they reach the field, so evaluation means designing a test from scratch, often on the day a component goes live.
- Design and run same-day validation tests for newly integrated components with no existing coverage, producing evidence that decides whether they go live
- Diagnose faults in complex hardware-software systems with root-cause analysis and exploratory testing, without a formal test suite
- Wrote the SOPs and field manuals for pre-flight checks, sensor calibration and field network setup (including Starlink), now used by field engineers and project managers to make work repeatable
- Commission new field sites end-to-end, including network and facility configuration, before handing over to the permanent facilities team
- Mentor and onboard field engineers in test procedures, SOPs and fault-diagnosis workflows
- Explain technical findings clearly to engineering and operations teams, in confidential, NDA-restricted settings
